Bank Holiday Karate Tournament.

Renshinkai Southern Academy, (RSA), hosted the Lambeth Junior Karate Interclub Tournament on Bank Holiday Sunday 4^th May 2003, at the Brixton Recreation Centre. Even though the event had fewer competitors than last year, all who attended on the day enjoyed the tournament. All the competitors and coaches must be congratulated for their efforts as it has been noted that the standard of the competitors is improving each year.

The competing clubs came from Lambeth, Croydon, Ealing, Essex, Chiswick, Surrey, Kent, and Ipswich. The aim of the Tournament is to continually develop the skills of the children form the grassroots level and giving them the opportunity to display their skills to a large audience.

The Interclub Trophy went to RSA Streatham for accumulating the most points (100), followed by England Karate Kan (96) and third Bujin Ryu Karate (85). This year it was a very close event and the final points had to be decided on the last event.

Lambeth Endowed Charities, Thrift Urban Housing, Sport 4 Lambeth, Lambeth Council and FSA who have contributed to the success of the Tournament supported this event. The next RSA event will be the Lambeth Karate Open Tournament, which will be held in October at the Brixton Recreation Centre.
