BRITISH KARATE FEDERATION CHAMPIONSHIPS
23-24th October 2004

The British Karate Championships hosted by the British Karate Federation was held at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre, on 23rd-24th October 2004. The event, which was for seniors 18 years and above, was poorly attended for such a prestigious event as this. But I’m sure there will be improvements for next year.

Biko had a small entry for the event. A kata team which consisted of Mick Bazylewycz, Damian Rice and David Horner and they gained the silver medal for their efforts. Well done to the team, as they continue to show consistency over the years. Kata team captain Mick Bazylewycz has been on the competition circuit for both kata and kumite for many years now, and still produces consistant results.

Dean Cunningham and Nabi Ebrahimi made gallant efforts to make it to the finals but were unsuccessful this time. But I’m such they have gained invaluable experience for next year’s event.
