Another successful RSA Tournament
in association with BIKO
Renshinkai Southern Academy and BIKO hosted the 7th
Lambeth Junior Karate Interclub Tournament (LJKIT) on Sunday 20th
March 2005, at the Brixton Recreation Centre. Over 140 competitors
competed at this event, which had positive feedback from all the coaches,
spectators and competitors. The standard of the both kata and kumite
continues to improve, especially from the lower grades.
The competing clubs came from Lambeth, Croydon, Essex, Kent, Northants,
Watford, Surrey, East London and North London. The aim of the event
is to continually develop the skills of the children from the grassroots
level and give them the opportunity to display their skills to a large
audience. As a result we can now identify young up and coming competitiors
newly arriving in the competition arena. Some of the young RSA Competitiors
identified include :

plus many more.
Competitors had individual kata, team kata, individual kumite and
team kumite to choose from. This event was the first attempt for many
of the competitors. Once again like last year, the 18yrs to under
21yrs male section, created lots of excitement. All the competitors,
coaches, spectators and parents have mentioned that they enjoyed the
tournament and will be there next year. We at RSA would like to thank
everyone who supported the event.
Thrift Urban Housing, Lambeth Council, RSA and FSA have all contributed
to the success of this successful Tournament. The next RSA Tournament
will be the Lambeth Karate Open Tournament, which will be held in
